Following a restructure at this leading Fund, an opportunity has emerged to play a key role in the success of the in-house Financial Planning Team.

The Role

Your primary responsibility will be to manage and lead a team of paraplanners in delivering best practice and compliant support to the Fund’s Financial Planners. Key functions: 

  • Oversee the workflow of the Paraplanning team;
  • Undertake the vetting of SOA’s, and manage the acceptance of SOA requests into the Paraplanning queue;
  • Provide leadership, coaching and professional development to the Paraplanning team;
  • Provide & review written technical strategy content, and update content as required;
  • As required, prepare complex SOA’s using XPlan;
  • Manage Paraplanner workloads, and conduct training and induction;
  • Plan team capacity and manage resourcing;
  • Observe and track team quality standards, behaviours and performance and act on developments accordingly;
  • Report to management on a weekly basis in relation to activity, quality and output;
  • Escalate systemic issues to the Advice Operations Manager; and
  • Provide support to the Financial Planners in their dealings and relationships with Fund members

You:

  • Have completed the Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning;
  • Have previous experience in leading a team (strongly preferable);
  • Have strong experience in the financial planning sector, excellent technical knowledge (including Defined Benefit expertise) and a “can do” attitude;
  • Have the ability to communicate well with Management, Compliance & Planning teams;
  • Have demonstrated experience in influencing stakeholders and uniting a wide audience; and
  • Possess a flair for process improvement, critical thinking and building motivated workplaces keeping a commercial mindset
